The Padre Foundation

What is the Padre Foundation?

The Padre Foundation is a non-profit 501(3)(c) based in Southern California that provides numerous resources for children and adolescents with type-1 diabetes. These resources include free classes on diabetes self-care, insulin pump training classes, community recreational events and week-long camps designed to teach children how to manage their diabetes on their own.

The Padre Foundation partners with several hospitals in the area, namely Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), to provide these classes and the vast majority are free so as to serve low income families. These classes range from comprehensive classes for newly diagnosed diabetics to classes for caregivers of type-1 children to driving with type-1 classes for teens with the disease.
